Description
The Bideford Dolphin project involved several of Otech Marine Services disciplines. The objective was to complete a 5 year class inspection (SPS) within 30 days. As the rig was under contract with Statoil, all diving activities had to be completed in compliance with Statoil inshore diving requirements.
As one of the largest individual projects in our most recent history we were responsible for diving operations, propulsion work, rigging & mechanical activities such as:
- Design and Production of Cofferdam
- Replacing 2 Ulstein TCNP 120 Azimuth Thrusters
- Replacing of 2 Impressed Current Anodes
- In- Water Survey (DnV)
- Removal and installation of fairleads (Maritime Pusnes)
- Replacement and overhaul of all shipside valves
- Blanking of all seachests, inlets and outlets
- Installation of sacrificial anodes inside ballast tanks/ seachests
- Thickness measurement of subsea walls (pontoon tanks)
- Eddy current examination underwater of critical connections
- Rigging electric motors and mechanical assistance with steering gear overhaul
- Mechanical assistance Rolls Royce with overhaul of 1 Azimuth Thruster
