Description
The Veslefrikk B project formed a part of Technip`s LDC campaign offshore in the North Sea. Otech Marine Services was early involved as a technical consultant for the project, and then later in handling the onboard preparations, rigging and lifting operations along with and dismantling of the thruster together with Rolls Royce.
The project represented a milestone as it was the first time ever that the production platform Veslefrikk B had replaced one of its thruster’s on location offshore in the North Sea. The successful operation proved that it is possible for operators to complete such operations even on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Activities performed by Otech Marine Services were:
- Planning and technical consulting
- Dismantling of steering unit and rigging of lifting equipment
- Rope Access and rigging for mooring for LDC
- Replacement of 1 KaMeWa MKII Azimuth Thruster
